Best Australian Wine [6]

Must be wine made in Australia from grapes grown in Australia. Decided from highest scoring top gold medal winning wines from  classes: 1-39

Best New Zealand Wine [7]

Must be wine made in NZ from grapes grown in NZ.
Decided from highest scoring top gold medal or top scoring gold medal winning NZ wines from

classes: 1-39

Best French Wine [8]

Must be wine made in France from grapes grown in France. Decided from highest scoring top gold or top scoring gold medal winning French wines from classes: 1-12, 15-31 and 34-39

Best Italian Wine [9]

Must be wine made in Italy from grapes grown in Italy.
Decided fro
m highest scoring top gold or top scoring gold medal winning Italian wines from classes: 1-39

Best International Wine (Imported) [10]
Must be wine made overseas from grapes grown overseas.
Decided from the Best Italian, Best NZ and Best French Wines of Show. Other countries to be included if required conditions met.

Best Alternate Varietal (Domestic or International) [11]

Chairman's Choice. Decided from top gold or top scoring gold medal winning

wines from classes: 13-16; 32-35

Best Italian Wine Varietal [12]

Decided from highest scoring top gold medal or top scoring gold medal

winning Italian varietals from classes: 13, 14, 32 & 33

Best Mornington Peninsula Red Wine [13]

Trophy is in recognition of birthplace of the ICCWS. Wine must be made on the MP

from grapes grown on the MP. Decided from highest scoring top gold or top scoring

gold medal wines awarded to MP wines from red wine classes: 18-35 & 37

Best Mornington Peninsula White Wine [14]

Trophy is in recognition of birthplace of the ICCWS. Wine must be made on the MP

from grapes grown on the MP. Decided from highest scoring top gold or top scoring gold

medal wines awarded to MP wines from white wine classes: 1-17 & 36

Best Organic White Wine of Show [15]

Decided from gold medal wines from classes 1-17 & 36. Wines must be certified organic.

Best Organic Red Wine of Show [16]

Decided from gold medal wines from classes 18-35 & 37. Wines must be certified organic.

Best Low or No Alcohol Wine of Show [17]

Decided from top gold or top scoring gold medal wines from classes 36 & 37

Low alcohol defined as being in the range 0 – 1.2%

 

Best Fortified Wine [18]

Decided from gold medal wines in class 38

Best Dessert Wine [19]

Decided from gold medal wines in class 39

Top Distributor of Show - Imported Wines [20]

Decided on both the number of entries and their quality (number of gold medal wines)

Most Successful Exhibitor in Show [21]

Decided on the total score from their top four entries (not necessarily gold) 

People’s Choice Award - White Wine [22]

Decided by private poll taken at Cool Climate Wine Festival

People’s Choice Award - Red Wine [23]

Decided by private poll taken at Cool Climate Wine Festival

 

Conditions

  • Trophies will only be awarded if there are 4 or more entries in specific class.

  • Trophies (aside from People's Choice) will only be awarded to gold medal winning wines
