Introducing the International Cool Climate Wine Show (ICCWS) supporting partner - AGL
We are excited to introduce AGL as an important supporting partner of the International Cool Climate Wine Show (ICCWS). In 2025, AGL is proudly sponsoring the Excellence in Environmental Sustainability Award (EESA). This new and exciting award, which has recently opened for entries, aims to celebrate and acknowledge wineries that are not only producing exceptional wines but are also leading the way in sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. With AGL’s support, this award recognises the leaders in the wine industry who are driving change toward a more sustainable future. This perfectly aligns with AGL’s goal of supporting businesses with a range of energy efficient products and sustainable solutions to help them work towards their net zero & decarbonisation goals.
Who is AGL?
AGL is proudly Australian and one of Australia’s leading energy companies. They are also one of Australia’s top private investors in renewable energy, helping drive the transition to lower emissions and a smart energy future. AGL has capabilities in commercial solar, commercial battery systems, electric vehicle and bioenergy solutions. “At AGL, we recognise the distinct challenges and opportunities that the winery sector encounters in moving towards a low-carbon future. With our expertise in providing customised energy solutions, we collaborate with businesses to create and execute decarbonisation strategies that meet the customer’s needs”, says Brendan Weinert, Head of Sustainable Business Energy Solutions for C&I customers. AGL partnered with Rob Dolan Wines
AGL has worked with several wineries to support them on their sustainable journey, including Rob Dolan Wines, a boutique winery located in Warrandyte, Victoria, with over 30 years’ experience in the wine industry.
Rob Dolan Wines had the goal to reduce electricity costs and become more self-sufficient with their energy supply.
To help, AGL installed a 99.8 kW solar system through a Power Purchase Agreement, which meant Rob Dolan Wines benefited from solar with no upfront costs and only paid for the energy produced by the solar system, making it a cost-effective solution for their winery operations. This installation has not only improved their energy efficiency but also significantly reduced their energy costs.
